Sharing Internet Connection to iPhone's via Cambrionix Hub

macOS

Using a USB cable, you can share your Mac’s internet connection with your iPhone. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Connect your iPhone to your Mac:

    • Use a USB cable to connect your iPhone to your Mac.

  2. Enable Personal Hotspot on your iPhone:

    • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Personal Hotspot.

    • Toggle on Allow Others to Join (or simply Personal Hotspot on some models). This enables your iPhone to receive the internet connection from your Mac via USB.

  3. Set Up Internet Sharing on your Mac:

    • Open System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions) on your Mac.

    • Go to Sharing.

    • In the Sharing menu, select Internet Sharing from the list on the left.

    • Choose your internet source (e.g., Wi-Fi or Ethernet) from the Share your connection from dropdown menu.

    • In the To computers using section, select iPhone USB.

    • Tick the box next to Internet Sharing to enable the connection.

  4. Your iPhone should now use your Mac's internet connection via the USB cable.

    • Your iPhone's status bar will display a tethering icon, indicating that it’s using a shared internet connection.

Windows

Using a USB cable, you can share your Windows PC’s internet connection with your iPhone. Here’s how:

  1. Connect your iPhone to your Windows PC:

    • Use a USB cable to connect your iPhone to your Windows PC.

  2. Enable Personal Hotspot on your iPhone:

    • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Personal Hotspot.

    • Toggle on Allow Others to Join (or just Personal Hotspot). This allows your iPhone to use the internet connection from your PC via the USB cable.

  3. Set Up Internet Sharing on your Windows PC:

    • On your PC, open Settings (you can find this by pressing the Windows key and typing Settings).

    • Go to Network & Internet.

    • Select Mobile hotspot from the menu on the left.

    • Under Share my Internet connection from, choose the source of your internet connection (e.g., Wi-Fi or Ethernet).

    • In the Share my Internet connection over section, choose Bluetooth or Wi-Fi (this will not affect the USB connection).

    • Now, under Related settings, click on Change adapter options.

    • In the Network Connections window, locate your primary internet connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), right-click it, and select Properties.

    • In the Sharing tab, tick the box that says Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection.

    • From the dropdown list, select Apple Mobile Device Ethernet (this represents your iPhone’s connection to your PC via USB).

  4. Your iPhone should now use your Windows PC's internet connection via the USB cable.

    • Your iPhone will show a tethering icon in the status bar to indicate it’s using the shared internet.
