DFU

DFU or Device Firmware Upgrade mode allows all devices to be restored from any state. This is compatible with Apple Silicon or Intel Macs, iOS devices with the T2 chip (2018 and later), and Android devices.

Apple devices:

• Use a USB 3.0 compatible (SuperSpeed) Type C cable; Thunderbolt cables are also compatible.

• Connect the two devices via their DFU ports.

• Administrative privileges are required

Android Google Pixels devices:

• Devices will go to fastboot mode.

Method	Description
Get DFU Status	Check DFU status (only on macOS)
Enter DFU	Put iOS device into DFU mode
Exit DFU	Exit iOS device from DFU mode
